Bags of Love provides toys, personal items, journals, quilts, stuffed animals, and a mini pillow to children who have been removed from their homes for a variety of reasons such as, abuse or family trauma.
The local chapter at BSDA was started in the spring of 2021. The filled drawstring bags are distributed to the Fostering Hope Program, The Dawn Center Shelter for women and their children, and The Hernando County Sheriffs Department in order to reach the children.
Two local quilter clubs assist with their lovely quilts. Donations fund the items necessary to continue the program. The BSDA Bags of Love Program is affiliated with “It’s My Very Own” a nationwide program.
